So there’s a lot of buzz flying around about a PC game called Minecraft. Apparently, it’s a garry’s mod-esque affair where you’re alone in a simple, Playstation One-like world. And you build EVERYTHING. Or something similar; perhaps it should be amended to you CRAFT everything. Based on what I’ve read about it, I’m millions of times sold.
I’ve seen the game, which is still in alpha, referenced a couple of times, but the first real thing I’ve read about it is on Rock, Paper, Shotgun, where Quintin Smith wrote a series of articles that are a diary of his playthrough of the game ‘on it’s hardest difficulty.’ It is a hilarious and informative post, and you can read it here.
Trying to find out more about the game turns up a lot of blog posts like this one, namely people who haven’t played the game but are politely interested, and people who have played the game and make it sound amazing, like this one.
So, what’s left to do is play this game, and hopefully find someone to play it on LAN with! You’re invited. Let’s take gmod to the next level!
P.S., this trailer is required watching. It doesn’t look too thrilling, but I’m still completely sold.
